What is Computer Science?
Though the scientific community was slow to acknowledge Computer Science
as a science because of the engineering, mathematical and theoretical components,
the general consensus is that Computer Science is the study of computers and the computations
they perform. These computations encompass all aspects of problem solving including design and
analysis algorithms, the formulation of algorithms as programs (software) and the
development of computational devices (computers) for executing these programs.
This tutorial will not focus on all aspects of Computer Science. It will be limited to the topics covered in "Core 3.12: Computing: Nature, Power, and Limits." It is a supplement to the assigned textbook, Course Pak, Labs and Homework.
